Sunforge Dagger

About

The Sunforge Dagger from Netflix's The Dragon Prince ! Wanting to build something both visually beautifully and difficult in form factor, I took it on as a personal project to create this 1:1 scale of the blade seen in episode 7 of the show.
CADed in Solidworks from reference images provided by the official page and screen shots from the show, then 3D printed and painted, the dagger has an Arduino ItsyBitsy 32u4 and RGB LEDs to allow for any pattern of lights! The larget challenge was by far form factor. Fitting a battery into the hilt with a single RGB LED below in the gem, and getting the power to the Arduino proved to be a fun challenge and I'm incredibly proud of the end result. Almost every part is 3D printed, including the blade, which I took some liberities with the runes ;) . If you would like the models, feel free to message me!

Skills

  • Solidworks - The entire sword was modeled in Solidworks before printing and assembling.
  • Arduino - ItsyBitsy 32u4 used to control RGB LEDs.
  • 3D Printing - Nearly every part is 3D printed on Prusa i3 Mk2s.
